Seated Hawaiian Woman by Yvonne Cheng

Well known for her iconic images of Hawaiian women in batiks, murals, and paintings, we’re proud to present two works of art just completed by Honolulu artist Yvonne Cheng.  These pieces are quite unique, painted on a specially hand-crafted Japanese paper that Yvonne has just begun using.  The paper itself is thick and lends itself well to Yvonne’s loose, natural lines; capturing her spontaneity as well as providing an added element of dimension.

They are newly framed in archival, acid-free materials that accentuate the artwork by creating a shadowbox effect, enhancing the textural quality of the paper.  The non-glare UV filtering plexiglas appears almost invisible, allowing your focus to be unhindered by any barrier.

Visit us in the gallery to see these new works on display.
Our gallery hours are 10am to 5pm, Monday – Saturday
