We adore these new creations by local Honolulu artist, Joey Chiarello.  They have it all; beautiful craftsmanship, whimsy, and yet anchored in Buddhist thought.

The Champion displays the image of the serpent, meaning detachment from the outcome of life’s occurrences. Painted on his armor is a human city of temples and homes. These remind us that all structures (including ourselves) are not permanent. Change is inevitable so we must be yielding, compassionate and flexible to truly live.
